I know I left this one for a while before posting…I’ve been so nauseous! Oh my goodness. I seriously had that moment of -oh wow this is going to be my reality for a couple weeks- curl up or work or eat…and that has been my life recently. Not very glamorous. But hey thats me.
I’ve also found myself paralysed by fear. Lucky for me -and lucky I had a role model like my mom who literally pushes through everything…I’ve never seen this woman break down- I am able to push through anything and maintain some semblance of a normal life. At least as far as work is concerned. I had a problem with quitting when I was younger, and at one point in my life I got over it. To this day it pains me to step back from work and not complete my work duties…even if it would probably be good for me.
So this whole ‘paralysed me’ has manifested in my personal realm. Per usual. Whenever something overwhelming is going on I retreat. I isolate myself. And I attempt to rebuild. The whole ‘rebuilding myself’ things is awesome! The ‘isolate/retreat’ thing is not awesome. Especially to my friends. I’m lucky I have a small handful of friends who have stuck with me over the years. They know what I’m like. They know that when something stressful comes up I’ll do this. And they wait there for me to return from the mists. I am so thankful for my good friends. I’ve lost quite a few friends over the years from this behaviour – something that I get better at each year. But that need to be alone is still a strong one. One of the many parts of me I continue to check in on and work on. I don’t know if it’ll ever be perfect but I’m proud of how far I’ve come.
So…..the recipe! This is a protein packed smoothie. I’ve stopped drinking it now. My pregnant taste buds are giving this recipe the big middle finger. However this recipe was golden for week 1-6. I highly recommend drinking this before the queasiness kicks in to give yourself plenty of nutrients from the beginning.
Sunwarrior Protein Smoothie

~2 scoops Sunwarrior Protein Powder
~1 large handful chopped kale
1) Place berries, kale, and protein powder inside your blender.
2) Pour enough coconut water inside the blender to cover the berries.
3) Pour enough almond milk into the blender to almost cover the kale (see photo).
4) Blend on high for 1 minute and sip/drink throughout the morning.
Much Luv, Laters
